Your host With the most Books—Beau Smith

Comic book motion pictures and television series are everywhere. The general population, a lot of who have never read a comic book, know who Captain Marvel, Ant Man, and Black lighting are. If you were born in the ‘50s or ‘60s, think about that. You never thought you’d see this happening.

It’s Iron Man—ON A T-SHIRT!!!

I was in the mall recently and saw an Iron man tee shirt in a store display. My 12-year old self never thought that day would come. The only place I ever saw an Iron man tee shirt in the 1960’s was in as ad in one of the 13 monthly comic books that they were publishing at the time. I never figured I’d see one in a real store.

Things sure have changed.

Technology and Comic Books-Jack Kirby Saw It Coming.

The main reason life-long comic book readers like me are able to take pleasure in this is because technology finally caught up to the visuals of comic books. That’s been the main reason it’s taken decades for the general public to discover superhero comic books and what they genuinely are—modern day mythology.

I’m very thankful that Stan Lee lived long enough to not only see this happen, but to be a major part of it as well as respected for it. I wish Jack Kirby, Don Heck, Ross Andru, bill Everett, and others could’ve as well. I think they would’ve been very delighted to see how the action and the stories translate to a substantial screen and with special effects that for so lots of years, only they had the capabilities to produce.

The Avengers-Never thought I’d See Them On The big Screen!

From a reader and fan’s point of view, this has been a long time coming. For decades, we’ve known what terrific stories were being told within the four-color pages of comic books. We knew that not all comics were “just for kids”. At last, WE got to open the club house door and let new members in to take pleasure in what we had been privileged to know for so very long.

The state of film and television has changed, and it will no doubt change again. As a kid, the screens, big and small, were covered with westerns as well as cops and robber fare—war and science fiction too. At some point, the trend will change and we won’t see as lots of superhero films and TV shows as we do now. My hope is that it will become a regular part of accepted entertainment, not a fad or trend as before. That’s a genuinely enduring mark.

The Avengers Endgame—Or Is It?

When the decrease does begin, it will be because of money. When studios start to lose money, then you won’t see as lots of produced. technology will also change in the way we consume entertainment, that will also decide what stays and what goes as far as choices. distribution is already changing what we have access to and as they figure out how to decipher “ratings” for these new paths, then we also see a lot more changes. technology has already changed and, in some cases, disfigured the way we perceive community, both in life and entertainment. Those changes are multiplying. It’s a part of why you don’t see multitudes of motion picture goers gathering in large motion picture houses to see straight dramas now. They figure they can always enjoy that at home; there’s not enough spectacle to make it substantial screen worthy or amp the urge to see it with a community.

The age of technology has seriously altered the genres we now enjoy on the screen. ideal now it’s very good for comic book films and TV. how long will that last? I don’t know. If I did, then I’d probably be making enough money to be hit up by the same folks trying to find bill Gates to donate money to their cause, but I don’t so they won’t.

There will be change. I’m just delighted that I am alive to see my 12-year old kid dreams come to life on the big screen. I’ll deal with the adult ramifications of these changes another time.

I never thought I’d See My picture On A billboard In Times Square Either.

I’m thankful to see these advances and in my own small way, be a part of them. The big picture is complicated, but for ideal now, I’m just delighted that the picture is big.
