We haven’t acknowledged one of the most significant bands of the 1980s yet in this listing of the biggest tunes of all time.
THE biggest OF ALL TUNES (G.O.A.T.) is a series of posts, ranking my preferred tunes of all time. The master listing is here, as well as I update it about every two weeks or when I have one more 10 tunes or so.
So what’s the biggest Genesis tune? For me, that’s easy. guy on the Corner.
Released in 1982, the tune only went to #50 on the charts as well as has even been dropped off a few of their finest of comps. however it’s got emotional attachment for me ‘cause a woman I liked utilized to compose the lyrics on the margins of her notepaper back in my 12th grade Shakespeare class. Plus, it’s the precursor to Collins’ better-known tune about homeless, one more Day in Paradise.
I can’t tell you why I believe it’s much better than numerous other Genesis songs—and I do like rather a few of them—but I just do. I assumption it comes down to taste. My taste. My blog, my taste.
